Dennis Boykin, founder and manager of business development and capture management firm DB4 Consulting, has joined Intercom Federal Systems as the information technology contractor’s chief operating officer.

Boykin has previously served as a senior consultant to Intercom, where he will directly to Chairman and CEO Randy Coppersmith and also work with President Mike Strich, Coppersmith said Sunday.

“In this new role, he will have direct oversight of Intercom Federal’s business development, capture and proposal operations, business intelligence functions, and marketing operations,” Coppersmith said.

“He has been tasked with creating new business partnerships, to build on our existing IDIQ contracts and to help further diversify our growing government business.”

Prior to founding DB4, Boykin served as senior vice president of business development at STG and also led the company’s foreign affairs business unit.

He is also a 24-year military veteran and a University of Arizona alumnus that holds an M.B.A. from Webster University.

Lansdowne, Va.-based Intercom offers information technology, cybersecurity operational management and other products such as continuous monitoring as a service.
