An AT&T business unit will provide managed network connectivity services to Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. offices throughout the U.S. under a $12 million contract.

AT&T Government Solutions — the telecommunications company’s federal business organization – will support private wide area networks and voice communications at 95 FDIC locations nationwide, AT&T said Thursday.

Kay Kapoor, president of AT&T Government Solutions, said the business offers technology and services for public sector customers to meet enterprise networking, wireless, routing and Internet requirements.

“We look forward to working closely with FDIC’s division of information technology to help FDIC realize the service delivery, productivity, security and cost savings they seek,” Kapoor added.

FDIC provides deposit insurance to U.S. banks and evaluates risks in the nation’s financial services industry.
