SAS w-LogoSAS has designed an interactive software product that uses analytics technology to explore and process volumes of Hadoop-based data.

The In-Memory Statistics for Hadoop platform is meant to help organizations manage information generated through machine learning or statistical computing activities, SAS said Tuesday.

Oliver Schabenberger, SAS senior director for analytic server research and development, said the company intends for the software to facilitate collaborative analysis work among data scientists, modelers and statisticians.

SAS’ Hadoop analytics tool is built to support algorithm-based processes such as clustering, decision trees, regression and generalized linear modeling.

The company will demonstrate its big data management offerings at the ongoing Strata conference in Santa Clara, Calif.
