LeidosLogoLeidos will help the Defense Threat Reduction Agency research and develop measures to counter weapons of mass destruction under a potential 10-year, $7 billion contract.

The company said Thursday it will compete for task orders to perform work under the Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction Research and Technology Development vehicle.

DTRA seeks to acquire science and technology tools in order to fulfill the Defense Department‘s objectives of non-proliferation and counterproliferation of WMDs.

“Leidos is proud to provide continued support of the mission of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency to safeguard our nation and develop technologies to defeat weapons of mass destruction,” said John Fratamico, a Leidos group president.

As DoD’s combat support agency against WMDs, DTRA works to defend against chemical, radiological, nuclear, biological and high-yield explosive threats.
