HP logoHP Enterprise Services will help configure and implement a new Medicaid management system for the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing under a five-year, $116.9 million contract.

As Colorado’s Medicaid fiscal agent, the company will also manage maintenance and upgrade work for the Medicaid Management Information System that is based on HP’s interChange Healthcare platform, HP said Tuesday.

“The HP interChange Healthcare Platform is designed to enable a smooth transition to a CMS-certified system that will allow Colorado to maintain fiscal responsibility while continuing to provide for those in need,” said Susan Arthur, vice president for U.S. health and life sciences at HP Enterprise Services.

The company will also integrate the state’s pharmacy benefits management, data management and business intelligence systems with the Colorado MMIs.

Colorado is the 15th state to implement an interChange platform, which is federally-certified in 13 of those states.

“Colorado interChange will support our Accountable Care Collaborative program, a growing number of clients and social service organizations, and the shift to outcome-focused care while also helping us prepare for federal reform,” said Chris Underwood, deputy director at the finance office for the Colorado HCPF.
