NSAThe National Security Agency has issued cyber incident response assistance accreditation to seven companies under the National Security Cyber Assistance Program, the Defense Daily Network reported Wednesday.

Following an assessment of 21 focus areas, such as incident analysis and network traffic data collection, the NSA accredited Lockheed Martin, Booz Allen Hamilton, CrowdStrike Services, FireEye, Mandiant, Maddrix and Verizon.

NSA’s information assurance directorate also evaluated the consistency of the vendors’ services to national security systems owners and operators as well as their service quality improvements.

According to the report, NSCAP seeks to identify vendors that follow industry and government best practices not just on incident response but also on intrusion detection, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.

The agency said the accreditations are valid until May 26, 2015.
