Harris Corp. has been awarded a $15 million order to provide wideband handheld tactical radios to a Middle East country.
The company will deliver its RF-7850M multiband radio for tactical communication missions to the customer, Harris said Tuesday.
“The radio provides capabilities for sharing situational awareness feeds and command and control information while on the move, allowing commanders to make informed decisions in real time,†said Brendan O’Connell, president of international business unit at Harris RF Communications.
The radio features a web interface for users to access applications on situational awareness, tactical messaging, file transferring and radio configuration functions.
Harris designed the radio system to work with the Harris Falcon II(r) and Falcon III(r) line of products.
