HARRIS1Harris Corp. has won an $18 million contract to supply Falcon III wideband tactical radios to a nation client in Central Asia.

The customer plans to deploy the RF-7800H high-frequency manpack and the RF-7850M multiband handheld radios to its frontline forces through the radio systems, Harris said Thursday.

“Harris radios deliver highly reliable and secure communications for critical missions on the battlefield,” said Brendan O’Connell, president of international business at Harris RF Communications.

“Both the RF-7800H and the RF-7850M radio systems are crucial for delivering secure, up-to-the-minute situational awareness and effective command and control,” O’Connell added.

Harris booked the order for the first quarter of its fiscal year 2015.
