qinetiq-logoEbizQinetiQ has bought SR2020‘s seismic imaging and processing technology for approximately $1.7 million to complement QinetiQ’s distributed acoustic sensor and vertical seismic profiling offerings.

QinetiQ acquired the SR2020 platform to allow QinetiQ’s OptaSense business to provide, analyze and interpret subsurface seismic data for customers, OptaSense said Monday.

Magnus McEwen-King, a managing director at OptaSense, said the company has used ProVSP borehole seismic technology to process information from the firm’s DAS-VSP system.

The DAS-VSP platform is designed to help users access high-definition images of subsurface structures without the need for well intervention.
