HARRIS1Harris Corp. will provide its Falcon III multiband tactical radios to Australia’s military under a $38 million contract with the Australian defense department.

Australia ordered an unspecified number of the company’s AN/PRC-117G and AN/PRC-152A manpack and handheld radios for voice, data and video connectivity, Harris said Monday.

Brendan O’Connell, president of international business at Harris RF Communications, said the order complements Australia’s battlespace communications project.

O’Connell added the Falcon technology is designed to provide military users an interoperable radio waveform and to operate with joint tactical radio platforms.

Harris says it has delivered more than 55,000 Falcon radios to U.S. and international defense customers.
