cyber hack network computerKEMP Technologies has updated its load balancer product to offer support for smart card technology used in the federal sector.

The LoadMaster application delivery controller offering can now support hardware, cloud, virtual and bare-metal systems intended to process security IDs, KEMP said Monday.

According to KEMP, federal smart cards are designed to provide select civilian, military and contractor employees access to protected government buildings or assets.

The firm designed LoadMaster to have network security, distributed denial-of-service mitigation, client authentication, application publishing and access control features.

KEMP also released the Application Firewall Pack technology with the goal of helping customers prevent data leaks and address vulnerabilities in web apps.
