Dell - ExecutiveMosaicSeveral of Dell‘s networking switches have received certification from the Defense Department on interoperability and information assurance capabilities and are now included in the DoD Unified Capabilities Approved Products List.

The company said Monday the certification means federal agencies can now use Dell’s S4810, S4820T, S6000 and Z9000 switches to support networking operations.

“We are pleased to see that several of our networking products received this certification, knowing that they have undergone a rigorous, two-part assessment in order to be added to the Approved Products List for use in the Department of Defense,” said Steve Harris, vice president and general manager of Dell Federal.

The DoD UC APL testing process includes evaluation of a product’s functionality, interoperability with other products and compliance with the agency’s security technical implementation guidelines.

Dell said its networking products work to enable customers to build a virtual and centralized IT infrastructure with support for software-defined networking.
