Cubic’s defense applications subsidiary has won a more than $6.5 million follow-on contract to update the home station training system of the Italian army.
The contract was awarded through Cubic’s Italy-based partner STE S.p.A. for the updates of multiple integrated laser engagement systems and counter improvised explosive devices kits, Cubic said Tuesday.
“The training systems provide a capability for the Italian Army to implement and experience realistic training at home station and thereby further enhance their readiness,†said Dave Schmitz, president of Cubic Defense Applications.
Cubic will perform work in 16 regimental sites across Italy.
The counter IED kits comprise wireless and manual tripwires and control devices to simulate an IED threat.
