FireEye_logo_EMA new FireEye report indicates that many large enterprises in North America, Latin America, Asia and Europe experience challenges in managing security alerts due to concerns on budget, quality and response times.

The company said Thursday its “The Numbers Game: How Many Alerts is too Many to Handle?” report points to low budgets, quality perception gaps, lagging response times and underutilized tools for security management across several regions.

“The best security solutions in the world fail when the alerts they generate and the people who should handle them are unable to act quickly on them,” said David Bianco, manager of product detection engineering at FireEye.

“[With] so many solutions producing alerts in an enterprise, it is more important than ever to know which ones produce real alerts and establish stronger processes around response.”

FireEye said the report is based on an IDC survey of IT security professionals at approximately 500 large enterprises in 13 countries.
