IBMlogo3 EbizIBM wants its big data and analytics, security, mobile and cloud businesses to generate a combined annual revenue of as much as $40 billion by 2018, Reuters reported Thursday.

Bill Rigby writes those businesses accounted for 27 percent of the company’s overall $93 billion in sales during its fiscal 2014 year.

IBM executives disclosed the company’s 2018 revenue goal during an investor meeting held Thursday in New York, according to Reuters.

The technology firm also plans to shift up to $4 billion in funds toward strategic priority areas this year, according to Rigby’s article.

Rigby reports IBM experienced a gradual decline in revenues after the company divested its semiconductor, low-end server and cash register portfolios.
