department of the army USA sealThe U.S. Army is seeking information on multimodal signal and fusion processor technology to support intelligence operations and boost the processing, exploitation and dissemination of intelligence data collected across different platforms.

The Army Contracting Command said in a FedBizOpps notice published Feb. 18 that the technology will help the service’s Communications-Electronic Research, Development and Engineering Center develop an architecture that aligns with the Distributed Process Exploitation Dissemination enterprise.

Current PED methods have drawbacks in producing converted, refined, accessible and actionable intelligence from a growing volume of collected sensor information adequately and in a timely manner, the service said.

These affect the combat forces’ situational awareness and operational planning and execution capabilities, it added.

According to the notice, the Army is looking for real-time or forensic PED applications that can perform multimodal fusion on sensor platforms, at fixed site locations and on moving vehicles.

Required capabilities include cueing, cross-cueing, tipping and proactive real-time alerting, as well as multilevel security, open common modular system architecture and multimodal data transmission and fusion.

Responses to the RFI are due on April 6.
