cyber security imageDeloitte and Verizon Enterprise Solutions have forged an alliance to combine their offerings in a move to help customers respond to cyber threats.

The companies will integrate Verizon’s computer forensics, incident response and investigation services with Deloitte’s cyber risk advisory services under the partnership, Deloitte said Tuesday.

“With our combined capabilities, we are preparing enterprises to better withstand a cyberattack before and beyond the breach,” said Mike Denning, vice president of global security for Verizon Enterprise Solutions.

“We understand that companies need to have the mindset that being breached is a matter of when, not if,” Denning added.

Deloitte cited a Verizon study that indicates a cyber attack “usually takes days or less, while the time to detect a breach is often much longer.”

The compromise can lead to data loss, brand reputation damage and lost customer trust, Deloitte said.
