partnershipThe Australian subsidiaries of General Dynamics‘ land systems business and Thales have teamed up to submit a joint bid on the Australian army’s Land 400 Phase 2 – Mounted Combat Reconnaissance Capability program.

General Dynamics said Tuesday the new memorandum of understanding expands the existing partnership between the two companies in military vehicle design and manufacturing, life-cycle support and systems integration services.

Ian Cook, managing director of General Dynamics Land Systems – Australia, said the agreement also works to combine their technologies in military-off-the-shelf 8-by-8 vehicle platforms to provide the Australian army with a new land combat vehicle system.

The General Dynamics-Thales team previously worked on the Australian Light Armored Vehicle program for crew procedural trainers.
