AEHF satelliteAn Airbus subsidiary will provide satellite communications services for Norway’s defense ministry under a four-year agreement.

The contract signed with the Norwegian Defense Logistic Organization calls for Airbus Defence and Space to provide X-band capacity of up to 30 megahertz per year to Norway’s military for use on the Skynet satellite constellation, Airbus said Monday.

The company said the delivery of X-band satellite capacity aims to provide secure ground, maritime and aerial communications to military personnel across the Arctic, Northern Europe and other allied countries.

Evert Dudok, head of communications, intelligence and security business at Airbus Defence and Space, said the company is pleased to have Norway in its Skynet satellite network.

“We will work closely together to ensure they gain the maximum benefit from the Skynet constellation,” he added.
