The company said Thursday its Chemical Biological Protective Shelter M8E1 is designed to help health personnel deliver emergency medical services to military servicemen without wearing any protective clothing against biological and chemical threats.

Smiths Detection President Terry Gibson said its CBPS platform also aims to provide shelter for civilians during natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks.

The company assembles the mobile shelters at its Edgewood, Maryland-based headquarters.
