electronic health record EHRCGI has been awarded a contract by Highmark to continue helping the Pittsburg-based health insurer audit and validate medical claims with a CGI technology.

CGI designed its Customized Audit System platform for healthcare payers to identify coding errors and overpayments, the company said Wednesday.

“More timely, accurate notification of overpayments will also help our healthcare providers adjust their billing practices and avoid future mistakes,” said Kurt Spear, a vice president at Highmark.

The benefits-funded, contingency fee contract allows Highmark to receive CGI’s auditing and validation services with no upfront costs.
