A Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary has received a $4 million contract extension to provide advanced time division multiple access interface processor terminals to the U.S. Navy‘s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command.
Comtech EF Data has been producing ATIPs for the command under a potential four-year, $40.2 million contract, Comtech said Monday.
ATIP works as a layer-2 Ethernet bridge designed for integration into the Navy’s multiband terminals onboard ship, shore and submarine platforms.
The military service aims to manage its bandwidth as well as increase data rates and throughput with the ATIP infrastructure.
Comtech is slated to deliver an adaptive coding technology for the Advanced Extremely High Frequency satellite communication system next year.
