northrop-Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman has demonstrated a live, virtual and constructive system the company built to help aircrew members operate virtual planes alongside live aircraft through a network of simulation tools.

The company presented its LVC Experimentation, Integration and Operations Suite platform at the Northern Edge 2015 joint-training exercise held at the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex in June, Northrop said Friday.

Northrop built the LEXIOS system under a contract for the U.S. Air Force’s Distributed Mission Operations Network, which is designed to allow disparate aircraft systems located worldwide to carry out virtual training exercises.

The U.S. Army Pacific, U.S. Pacific Command, Marine Corps Forces Pacific, Air Combat Command, Air National Guard, Air Mobility Command, Air Force Materiel Command and the U.S. Naval Reserve are among the training participants that virtually operated reconnaissance aircraft, aerial warning and control systems and fighter planes.
