HP logoHewlett-Packard has launched its new DNS Malware Analytics offering as part of the company’s efforts to leverage data analytics in cybersecurity amid an expanding or eroding network perimeter, Fedscoop reported Wednesday.

Greg Otto writes that the service works to help customers monitor DNS traffic without devoting significant resources.

“Nobody in government is capturing all of their DNS traffic,” Rob Roy, federal chief technology officer at HP, told FedScoop.

“[Hackers] are embedding their attacks inside of the DNS stream because they know it’s so broad and happening so fast that they can go relatively undetected.”

HP also offers the Fortify scan analytics service as part of the Fortify On-Demand suite of cloud security products, Otto reports.

Fortify utilizes machine learning to automate information assurance audits, the report said.
