cyberFortinet has introduced a platform designed to provide users unified access to corporate networks, applications and wireless devices and help businesses protect platforms from potential data breaches and cyber attacks.

The Secure Access Architecture works to help enterprises segment access layers and mobile devices across wireless and wired network environments in order to prevent cyber threats, Fortinet said Saturday.

“As the probable first line of defense for an organization’s infrastructure, the access layer hasn’t received the amount of attention it deserves in regards to cybersecurity,” said Michael Xie, founder, president and chief technology officer at Fortinet.

Fortinet unveiled the Secure Access Architecture as part of its Internal Segmentation strategy that seeks to separate access layers from mission-critical applications.

The new architecture framework is composed of platforms intended for application control, unified and endpoint management and wireless LAN management operations.
