MutualinkMutualink has introduced a new device for users to send multimedia content and communicate with other first responders and public safety organizations during emergency situations.

The Wearable Smart Gateway is a palm-sized device built on Intel-made Edison computing platform and is a product of Mutualink’s Internet of Public Safety Things program, Mutualink said Tuesday.

Mike Wengrovitz, vice president of innovation at Mutualink, said the companies seek to leverage “mobility, connectivity, resiliency and cloud ecosystems for next-generation first responders.”

IoPST is also part of Mutualink’s efforts to prepare for the launch of FirstNet wireless communications network designed to facilitate communication among first responders and public safety personnel.
