cyberFortinet has launched an academy that aims to provide network security-focused training and certification to students in an effort to address the demand for cybersecurity experts.

The Fortinet Network Security Academy will offer cybersecurity training to students worldwide through partnerships with six organizations from the U.S., Canada and Europe that will serve as academy sites, Fortinet said Tuesday.

“Current estimates show up to one million cybersecurity job openings with demand expected to rise to 6 million globally by 2019,” said Ken Xie, founder, chairman and CEO of Fortinet.

“We are partnering with organizations around the globe… to help fill the pipeline of cybersecurity experts needed to manage and thwart increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks.”

Organizations that have become FNSA sites are:

  • Cape Coral Technical College
  • Dalhousie University
  • HTL Rennweg
  • Institute for Veterans and Military Families
  • Per Scholas
  • Willis College

Fortinet expects to add 20 organizations to its list of academy sites in the second quarter of 2016.
