Microsemi Products Support Lockheed-Built Ballistic Missiles in Navy Test Flights - top government contractors - best government contracting eventMicrosemi has provided design services and electronic products in support of the Lockheed Martin-built Trident II D5 fleet ballistic missile, which completed U.S. Navy-led test flights this month.

The semiconductor provider said Thursday its electronics technology that works to support missile control and navigation functions has been integrated into the Trident missiles as part of the D5 Life Extension program.

The Navy launched the fleet ballistic missiles from a submerged submarine in the Atlantic Ocean as part of the Trident Strategic Weapon System evaluation, ExecutiveBiz reported Mar. 21.
