Parsons2Parsons will provide support to veterans and disadvantaged workers as part of a five-year Project Labor Agreement with the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council.

The company has also teamed up with Helmets to Hardhats in a push to assist veterans find employment on public works projects in Long Beach, Parsons said Thursday.

Dan Sloan, director of labor relations at Parsons, said the company aims to help veterans transition in careers relating to construction, engineering, operations, and intelligence professions.

“This transition is made possible through cooperation between all stakeholders, including the City of Long Beach, the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council, the contractors, Helmets to Hardhats, and our local union partners.”

Parsons works with various local agencies and Long Beach City College in its construction pre-apprentice training program in an effort to continue working with a qualified local labor pool.
