Data virtualization provider Delphix has appointed Chris Cook to succeed Jedidiah Yueh as president and CEO after the latter transitions to the role of executive chairman.

Delphix said Tuesday Cook — who was also appointed as a member of the board of directors — brings with him 25 years of experience in the enterprise software industry, most recently as president and CEO of New Relic where he led the software analytics company toward an initial public offering in 2014.

“Over the last few decades, Chris Cook has established a reputation as one of the top operating executives in the software industry, and we’re looking forward to having him lead our team,” Yueh said.

“As applications and data become increasingly critical components of business success, the ability to safely and rapidly access the right data at the right time by the right people becomes a competitive advantage for any company,” Cook said.

He added Delphix works to fulfill the need for rapid data access and move toward expansion through its data virtualization technology.

Cook also worked as CA Technologies‘ corporate senior vice president and general manager of application performance management division and held sales leadership roles at Quest Software and BMC Software, Delphix noted.
