insider threat, hackerLockheed Martin and Interset have partnered to develop an integrated platform for commercial customers to identify potential insider threats through user behavior analytics.

The partnership seeks to combine Interset’s user behavior analytics software and Lockheed’s Wisdom Insider Threat Identification technology, Lockheed said Monday.

“Insider threats pose one of the highest risks to an organization, and thefts by malicious insiders are projected to double by 2017, approaching half a trillion dollars annually,” said Angie Heise, vice president of Lockheed’s commercial cyber business.

Dale Quayle, Interset CEO, noted he believes the companies’ technology integration effort can help organizations to gain visibility of insider risks among employees, consultants and contractors.

Interset’s platform uses machine learning, predictive analytics and risk-based scoring methods to automatically sift through huge amounts of data and detect insider threats.

Lockheed’s commercial cyber unit works with various businesses to help them develop, implement and maintain critical infrastructure systems using the Intelligence Driven Defense framework.
