softwareResearchers at the University of South Australia have created simulation software intended to help soldiers change combat strategies with the use of an automated document analysis feature, The Lead reported Monday.

Caleb Radford writes the software is designed to interpret text descriptions of various real-world scenarios and develop procedures after it registers text understanding methods.

The text documents are run on a platform screen after the simulator analyzes them to produce visual representation of each scenario, according to the report.

The simulation software also works to analyze how units, squads and brigades behave at the same time and to modify the current military doctrine to achieve a desired result, the report says.

Software developer Matt Selway said the software is meant to help reduce time required to run large-scale military simulations, the report says.
