Excet to Support Navy's Corrosion Mitigation, Environmental Research Programs - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. Navy has awarded Excet a $48.6 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide research and development services for various Naval Research Laboratory projects in support of the service branch’s corrosion mitigation, coatings, environmental and prevention programs.

The Defense Department said Friday that Excet will perform scientific, engineering and technical R&D in Virginia, Florida and Washington D.C. through July 28, 2021, under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The Springfield, Virginia-based company has also received its initial task order with a ceiling value of $2 million, DoD added.

The Navy awarded the contract through a small business set-aside solicitationwith one bid received and obligated $504,500 in fiscal 2016 working capital funds at the time of award.
