Siemens logoSiemens‘ plant data services division has installed an online predictive maintenance monitoring service at NASA‘s Armstrong Flight Research Center that works to analyze the condition of critical assets and provide actionable recommendations.

The company said Wednesday it implemented the data-based subscription service as well as a data acquisition system at NASA Armstrong to measure data on the condition of assets such as cooling systems, fans, pumps and air handlers.

The Siemens Expert Center will receive the measured data via the internet before it evaluates the data with the help of Azima DLI by using automated algorithms and support from data analysts, Siemens added.

The monitoring service will then send an automatic notification to NASA via computer or mobile device about any significant change in the status of an asset.

Siemens said the service aims to discover asset issues in their early stages, reduce troubleshooting periods and boost asset uptime in order to facilitate asset reliability, maintenance efficiency and asset transparency.
