HoneywellHoneywell has introduced a new portfolio of foam blowing agents and refrigerants in support of the Environmental Protection Agency‘s Significant New Alternative Policy.

The SNAP program aims to assess and regulate alternatives for chemicals that EPA plans to phase out in compliance with the Clean Air Act, Honeywell said Monday.

Honeywell’s Soltice suite consists of foam-blowing agents and refrigerants designed to serve as alternatives to chemicals with high-global warming potential.

Products under the Honeywell’s product portfolio include the Solstice yf (HFO-1234yf) refrigerant for motor vehicle air conditioning systems, Solstice Gas Blowing Agent (HFO-1234ze), Solstice Liquid Blowing Agent (HFO-1233zd) as well as Solstice zd (HFO-1233zd) and Solstice ze (HFO-1234ze) refrigerants designed for chillers.

Honeywell also has formed a $900 million investment initiative with its suppliers to conduct research and development work on propellants, solvents, foam-blowing agents and refrigerants based on the company’s hydrofluoro-olefin technology.
