GovPlanet, IronPlanet’s online marketplace for used government equipment, has completed its second year of work to provide equipment to federal, state and municipal clients.
The marketplace also launched an expanded platform designed to extend its offerings to customers in Europe as GovPlanet enters its third year, GovPlanet said Monday.
“Our growth both geographically and through our product offerings underscores the success of GovPlanet in just two short years,†said Jeff Holmes, senior vice president of government services and auction management at IronPlanet.
Holmes noted that GovPlanet began to sell the very first Humvee in a public auction in November 2014 and at present sells construction equipment, trucks, pump and power gear and other surplus items.
GovPlanet will exhibit its new technology at the Association of the United States Army’s annual meeting and exposition at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
