Mercury-SystemsMercury Systems has unveiled a rackmount server for the defense sector designed to perform mission processing, sensor processing and cybersecurity applications at the annual Association of the U.S. Army meeting in Washington.

The company said Oct. 3 the ATX-class servers will work to address market demand for systems to protect mission-required functions and support command-and-control, battle management processing and sensor processing applications.

Shaun McQuaid, director of product management at Mercury Systems, said the company build the servers from supply chain-sourced components that work to offer extended service life and ruggedness.

The servers support Defense Department Directive 5200.44 to protect mission-required functions and were created with commercial-off-the-shelf processors, memory and peripherals in an effort to preserve commodity affordability.
