LexisNexisLexisNexis Risk Solutions has launched an awareness campaign that aims to help organizations prevent identity fraud.

The company said Monday the campaign is part of the International Fraud Awareness Week and led by LexisNexis’ Fraud Defense Network initiative that works to connect industry and government organizations through technology and resources.

“While identity fraud has long been an issue, fraudsters are now taking advantage of the ongoing changes in digital technology to employ more sophisticated fraud techniques, costing organizations, government and ultimately consumers hundreds of billions of dollars in time and money,” said Bill Madison, CEO of LexisNexis Risk Solutions’ insurance business.

“This increase in fraudulent activity makes it even more important to stay on top of the latest fraud trends and implement best practices,” Madison added.

LexisNexis said it will use social media to provide tips, host virtual roundtable discussions, engage industry influencers and direct readers to blogs, third-party content and the company’s content hub.

The company also released a Identity Fraud Prevention Playbook that offers information on common identity fraud schemes in business and government as well as recommendations and prevention methods.

Additionally, LexisNexis launched a Fraud Awareness Week microsite that features aggregate resources and downloadable fraud prevention information such as whitepapers, research reports, case studies, issue briefs, webinars, videos and blog posts.

LexisNexis works with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Coalition Against Insurance Fraud, National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association, Identity Theft Resource Center and the R-CISC: Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center to support awareness efforts and promote fraud prevention insights and tools.
