President Barack Obama is set to appoint Peter Altabef, president and CEO of Unisys, as a member of the White House’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.

Unisys said Monday Altabef will join other senior industry executives who provide recommendations to the U.S. president on policy and technical issues related to national security, cybersecurity, global communications infrastructure, critical infrastructure and disaster response communications.

“I look forward to working with my fellow committee members to address the important security challenges we face as a nation,” Altabef said.

Altabef came to Unisys in 2015 after he previously led Oracle subsidiary Micros Systems, Perot Systems and Dell‘s services business.

He also currently serves on the board of directors at Unisys and EastWest Institute as well as on the advisory boards of Merit Energy, Petrus Trust and the Institute for Law and Technology of the Center for American and International Law.
