AUDS Team's Counter-UAV System Obtains Tech Readiness Level 9 Status - top government contractors - best government contracting eventA counter-unmanned aerial vehicle defense system from a team of three U.K.-based technology companies has achieved technology readiness level 9 status after the platform’s deployment with U.S. forces.

The AUDS was built by Blighter Surveillance Systems, Chess Dynamics and Enterprise Control Systems and designed to detect, track and disrupt drones six miles away within eight to 15 seconds, Blighter said Wednesday.

TRL-9 is the highest maturity level that a technology system can obtain and the rating validates that a product is in its final form has been demonstrated through missions.

AUDS is designed to protect national infrastructure or “strategically important” sites and events such as nuclear power stations, borders, airports, airbases and political, sports or VIP events, Blighter noted.

Liteye Systems — AUDS manufacturing and integration partner in North America — has entered a co-operative research and development agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration to test AUDS at select U.S. airports.

The AUDS team has built various platforms in efforts to meet customer needs in different markets, including a platform for AUDS deployment on top of a building; a field mast system to protect semi-permanent sites; and a system to support rapid deployment.
