RE2 Robotics to Develop Robots for Army Combat Medics; Jorgen Pedersen Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventRobotic manipulation systems developer RE2 Robotics has received a second phase Small Business Innovation Research grant from the U.S. Army to build robotic technologies that would help combat medics perform their tasks in the field.

RE2 Robotics said Monday the Army Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center intends for the robotic systems to minimize risk of injury to the combat medic and other rescue personnel, RE2 Robotics said Monday.

The SBIR program aims to demonstrate novel medical module payload for future military ground vehicles with the goal to help medical support person leave a combat casualty.

RE2 will use its LIFELINE medical module payload to aid in the maneuver and evacuation of wounded soldiers under hostile conditions.

“Our team is honored that the Army has selected RE2 once again to further develop technology to help improve the safety of our brave military personnel while in hazardous combat situations,” said Jorgen Pedersen, president and CEO of RE2.

RE2 researched a LIFELINE prototype during the program’s first phase and the second phase aims to refine the design in terms of weight.
