Boeing Wins EPA Award for Energy Efficiency Efforts - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Environmental Protection Agency has selected Boeing to receive an award that recognizes the company’s energy conservation efforts.

EPA will present the 2017 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award to Boeing at a ceremony scheduled to be held April 26 in Washington, D.C., the company said Friday.

The recognition will make Boeing an ENERGY STAR awardee for the seventh consecutive year.

Boeing worked to boost energy efficiency by 4.1 percent and lessen absolute energy consumption by 2 percent during 2016.

The company also replaced more than 6,000 lighting fixtures with light-emitting diodes; lessened greenhouse gas emissions by 8 percent and water intake by 6 percent since 2012; and expanded its “Build a Better Planet” website to foster employee engagement and share best practices last year.
