Tony Moraco, CEO of Science Applications International Corp., has said he expects an increase in government contracting activity as federal agencies move to obligate funds for the rest of fiscal year 2017, FCW reported Wednesday.

Moraco, an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2017, told investors and analysts during SAIC’s fiscal 2018 first-quarter earnings call that he observed many agencies looking to accelerate award activities with new funding bills in place.

He noted the company has $13.2 billion in submitted proposals in the procurement pipeline, according to the report.

Moraco added President Donald Trump’s FY 2018 budget request reflects priorities in areas where SAIC’s offerings apply such as information technology, cybersecurity and military readiness.
