Virtustream, Pivotal Forge Cloud-Based App Deployment Partnership - top government contractors - best government contracting eventDell Technologies’ Virtustream business has teamed up with Pivotal to deliver an enterprise-grade cloud service offering to clients that use the Pivotal Cloud Foundry platform to build and field applications in hybrid cloud environments.

Kevin Reid, president and chief technology officer at Virtustream, said in a statement released Wednesday the Virtustream Pivotal Cloud Foundry Service offering is designed to help organizations use Pivotal’s cloud-native app development tool to deploy apps  “while offloading the management of the environment to Virtustream.”

Under the partnership, Virtustream will offer its MicroVM technology that works to help users manage cloud resources as well as provide developers access to its cloud platform in order to leverage a DevOps-based deployment model for apps.

“The shift to cloud-native applications is forcing every enterprise to focus on the speed at which you go from code completion to production and into the hands of customers,” said Bill Cook, president and chief operating officer of Pivotal.

Cook added that the partnership seeks to provide a cloud environment designed to help organizations “rapidly ship code.”
