Dynetics to Begin Construction Work on Aerospace Structures Facility in Alabama - top government contractors - best government contracting eventDynetics is scheduled Tuesday to break ground on a new facility in Decatur, Alabama, that will be used to build and test aerospace structures as part of the company’s expansion efforts.

The complex will consist of three buildings to support hardware integration and testing work on aerospace structures and is expected to be completed in 2018, Dynetics said Monday.

The company intends to develop the universal stage adapter for NASA’s Space Launch System and conduct structural tests for the space agency, Defense Department and commercial clients through the new complex.

The state of Alabama, Morgan County, Decatur Industrial Development Board and the Tennessee Valley Authority offered incentives for the construction of the new facility.

Dynetics also announced that it is set to hold an event on Aug. 31 in Cordova, Alabama, to mark the completion of SLS’ core stage pathfinder hardware designed to demonstrate core stage transportation and operations.

The company collaborated with Radiance Technologies and G&G Steel to build the pathfinder vehicle to be handed over to NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.
