American Systems plans to offer a range of aviation training services to the U.S. Army‘s Security Assistance Training Management Organization under a potential five-year, $250 million contract awarded in May.

The company said Monday it seeks to provide basic and highly technical flight, operational planning and maintenance technical advice and assistance support for SATMO’s aviation security assistance programs.

“It is an honor to partner with the U.S. Army to help fortify our foreign allies’ warfighters in our common fight against evildoers worldwide,” said Peter Smith, president and CEO of American Systems.

Smith, an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2017, added the company has supported the service branch’s foreign military training program for more than a decade.

SATMO operates under the Army Security Assistance Command and works to prepare, deploy and sustain security assistance teams worldwide.

American Systems said work locations under the contract may include Afghanistan, South Korea, Turkey, Iraq, Tunisia, Indonesia and Taiwan as well as other locations based on emerging U.S. government requirements.
