State Dept OKs $53M Raytheon Air-to-Air Missile Sale to Netherlands - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe State Department has approved the Dutch government’s request to buy 26 Raytheon-built AIM-120 C-7 advanced medium range air-to-air missiles, military equipment and related services from the U.S. government under a potential $53 million foreign military sales agreement.

The Netherlands also asked to procure AMRAAM guidance section spares, captive air training missiles, control section spares, missile containers, test equipment and weapons systems support, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday.

DSCA notified Congress Wednesday of the potential FMS deal that also includes technical documentation, training equipment, contractor and government engineering support, program and logistics support services.

The Netherlands will use the missiles and associated equipment to build up its regional security and mutual defense capabilities, support NATO interoperability and help the air force defend the country against future threats.
