Inmarsat Seeks to Drive Maritime Digitalization Efforts Through New Office - top government contractors - best government contracting eventInmarsat has opened an office at the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center in Alesund, Norway, in a push to help accelerate adoption of digital technology within the shipping industry.

Inmarsat said Wednesday it established the facility to support Norway’s maritime community and help third-party organizations leverage the company’s Fleet Xpress maritime broadband technology via the Certified Applications Provider program.

NMCC is located on the Norwegian University of Science and Technology campus.

The satellite communications company also signed a letter of intent to offer customers of Rolls-Royce‘s Energy Management System access to the Fleet Xpress.

Rolls-Royce provides ship performance management, remote monitoring and data analysis services through its facility at NMCC.
