NASA Reschedules NOAA Polar Satellite Launch for Nov. 14 - top government contractors - best government contracting eventNASA has pushed back the target launch date for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration‘s next weather satellite at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

Joint Polar Satellite System-1 is now scheduled to lift off Nov. 14 at 4:47 a.m. Eastern time aboard a United Launch Alliance-built Delta II rocket, NASA said Thursday.

JPSS-1 was originally slated to launch Friday.

Ball Aerospace & Technologies produced the satellite bus and Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite instrument designed to measure ozone concentration in the atmosphere.

Harris, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon also built instruments that Ball Aerospace integrated into JPSS-1.
