Orbital ATK Gets $50M in Navy Anti-Radiation Missile Design Adaptation Orders - top government contractors - best government contracting eventOrbital ATK‘s defense electronic systems unit has secured a pair of tasks orders worth up to $50.1 million to help the U.S. Navy produce design adaptations to current Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile subsystems and components.

The Navy awarded both orders under a previously issued basic ordering agreement that covers engineering studies and logistics and test planning services to support AARGM design modification, the Defense Department said Monday.

DoD noted the company will build on efforts conducted under the Small Business Innovation Research program topic, titled “Secondary Sensor for Anti-Radiation Missiles” through a $32.9 million order.

The company also received a $17.2 million order to evaluate system requirements and design trade space for the development of an extended-range AARGM variant, as well as study concepts to update the missile’s components and subsystems.

Work under both orders will occur in Northridge, California, through February 2019.

The Navy obligated a total of $5.5 million at the time of award from its fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds.
